Cleaning Tips

CARE & CLEANING

KEEP YOUR CABINETS BEAUTIFUL

Once your cabinets have been installed, wipe down all exteriors and interiors with a damp cloth to remove dust, drying immediately with a dry cloth. Be careful not to scratch the surface when wiping off dust and debris.

CLEANING GUIDELINES

A soft cotton cloth dampened with warm water is usually sufficient to clean your cabinets. If more thorough cleaning is required, please use a fresh solution of mild liquid soap (such as Murphy’s Oil Soap) mixed with warm water. After cleaning, wipe all surfaces with a clean, damp cloth. Dry immediately using another soft, clean cloth.

DO NOT use a dish cloth to wipe your cabinets, since it may contain remnants of grease or harsh detergents.

SPATTERS AND SPILLS

Clean spatters and spills immediately. Prolonged exposure to spills, including food, water, or other liquids, or to oil and grease spatters, can cause permanent discoloration or damage to your cabinets finish.

REGULAR DUSTING

Use a clean, soft lint free cotton cloth for regular dusting. Do not use pre-moistened dusting sheets, and do not use aerosol products made for dusting.

CLEANING PRODUCTS TO AVOID

Avoid using harsh detergents, strong soap, abrasive cleaners, or self-polishing waxes.

Do not use sponges or dish cloths, they may contain remnants of food, oils, or harsh cleaning products.

Avoid bleach or ammonia and products that include them.

Solvent-based or Petroleum-based products should not be used.

Waxing is not required or recommended.

SCRATCHES, GOUGES, AND NICKS

A touch up kit is available to hide surface damage. Contact the place of business where your Cabinetry was purchased.

AVOID MOISTURE DAMAGE

Avoid draping damp cloths or dishtowels over cabinet doors. Dry any damp surfaces immediately to avoid damage.

Moisture can cause permanent damage to the cabinet finish.

Treat your cabinets as you would fine furniture and they will reward you with long lasting beauty. Excess moisture is an enemy of any finish.
